Qualifications

- Current N95 Mask Fit Test Certificate
- Proof of current immunizations (MMRV, Tetanus)
- Negative TB skin test or chest x-ray within the past year
- Willingness to undergo a vulnerable sector police check
Languages
- English proficiency is necessary since efficient patient care and teamwork with colleagues depend on verbal and written communication.
- It would be advantageous to have further language proficiency in common tongues spoken by Toronto’s diverse population, such as French, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Punjabi.
Education
- Completion of a Personal Support Worker program accredited by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.
- Continuing education courses in relevant areas (e.g., dementia care, gerontology) are encouraged.
Full Job Description
To expand our team in Toronto, Ontario, Carecor Health Services Ltd. is looking for committed and caring Personal Support Workers (PSWs). Assuring the physical and mental well-being of patients in hospitals, long-term care facilities, and residential settings is your crucial responsibility. As a Carecor PSW, you will collaborate with a varied team to provide great care while working under the supervision of facility nursing staff.
Tasks
- Help clients with daily living tasks include eating, dressing, using the restroom, and bathing.
- Create a courteous and cheerful atmosphere while offering clients emotional and social assistance.
- Keep an eye on the health and wellbeing of your clients and notify the nursing team of any changes.
- Carry out domestic duties like cleaning, meal preparation, and laundry.
- Using the right lifting techniques, assist with transfers and mobility.
- Keep up-to-date client care records and documentation.
- Attend training sessions and team meetings.
- Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
- 8–12 hour shifts that are flexible and can be scheduled full- or part-time.
- Work in private homes, long-term care centers, and hospitals, among other healthcare settings.
- Physically taxing job that calls on the capacity to lift, bend, stand, and move clients.
- Must be able to spend a lot of time wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).
